Lita Rossana Ford Also called Lita Ford, is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist who was born in Britain. She played lead guitar in The Runaways, a hard-rock group made up of girls in late 1970s. Their punk rock music and raunchy lyrics made them not only the attention of rock fans but also from the community. The group was not able to gain a lot of attention in their home country of the United States but earned huge recognition abroad, particularly in Japan. The band broke up in 1979, Ford embarked upon a successful solo career with heavy metal. After taking vocal lessons she launched her debut solo album, 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin' On The Edge'. Ford vanished for some decades from the world of music as the two albums failed to receive the attention they deserved. The year was 1988, when she debuted her most successful album "Lita". Kiss Me Deadly (single) and Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were her greatest hit songs. The success of her was short lived and for several more years, she disappeared. Her release of Black in 1995 was followed by fifteen year wait for 'Wicked wonderland. The year was 2016, and her latest album, 'Time Capsule, was made available. Her name was given The Certified Guitar Legend Award from the Guitar Player Magazine.
