Ina Garten is an American writer of cookery cookbooks as well as Emmy Award-winning host for Food Network's oldest program Barefoot Contessa that debuted in 2002 and will run for 27 seasons to 2020. Ina started her career as a writer in the White House, writing the nuclear energy budget as well as policy reports. Ina initially enjoyed the intellectual stimulation of her job, but quickly lost interest. Instead she bought Barefoot Contessa, a specialty food shop.
