Lita Rossana Ford, also called Lita Ford is an American musician, singer and guitarist born in Britain. She was the lead guitarist for The Runaways, a hard-rock group made up of females in the late 1970s. The band's punk-rock style and provocative lyrics helped them get not only the attention of rock fans but also from the community. The band was never able to the group to be a major hit in America but they gained a lot of attention in other countries, especially Japan. Ford began a solo heavy metal career following the split of her group in 1979. After taking vocal lessons she launched her debut solo album, 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of her second album, 'Dancin"On The Edge'. Ford was absent from the scene for some time after both albums failed to be a huge success. Her biggest hit, 'Lita' came out in 1989. Kiss Me Deadly (single) as well as Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were among her biggest hit songs. But her fame was only short-lived and she vanished from the industry for several years. She re-emerged with the release of 'Black in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland' nearly 15 years after. Her most recent album "Time Capsule" was released in the year 2016. Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
