Lita Rossana Ford (also known as Lita Ford) is an British born American singer on guitar who took the role of lead singer in The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. The group was admired for their provocative lyrics and punkish design. While the group did not make much progress in America however they became extremely popular in other countries. That was the case especially in Japan. Following the split of the group in 1979, Ford began a successful solo career in the world of heavy metal. She started taking voice lessons followed by her first album "Out For Blood" which was followed by "Dancin" at the Edge. Ford was absent from the scene for a few years following her albums didn't become popular. In 1988, she returned to the scene with a smashing album called 'Lita. Kiss Me Deadly was a big hit, as were the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. Unfortunately, her popularity was short-lived and she remained absent from the world of music for a number of years. Then she returned with the release of 'Black in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland' nearly 15 years after. 2016 saw the release of her latest studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
