Lita Rossana Ford is born in the United Kingdom and was an American guitarist, vocalist and songwriter. In the late 70s she was the lead guitarist for the hard-rocking All-girl group The Runaways. The group did not have much of a following in The United States. However, the group's popularity increased abroad, particularly in Japan. Ford began a solo heavy metal career after the disbandment of her group in 1979. Her first solo release was 'Dancin' On the Edge, followed by her album Out for Blood. Ford disappeared for a few time from the scene following the albums' failure to draw much attention. The hit album "Lita" was released by Ford in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly, and Close My Eyes Forever both became big hits. Unfortunately, the success of her career wasn't lasting and over the course of several years she disappeared. Her re-emergence was with the albums "Black" which came out in 1995 as well as "Wicked Wonderland" nearly 15 years after. She released her latest album Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the award of a Certified Guitar Legend.
