Lita Rossana Ford (also known by the name Lita Ford) is an British born American guitar vocalist who played the role of lead singer of The Runaways a female hard rock band in the 70s. The group was admired by their raunchy lyrics and punkish style. The group did not have any fans within the United States. However, the group's popularity increased abroad and especially in Japan. Ford embarked on a heavy-metal solo career when the group ended in 1979. She started taking voice lessons followed by her first album "Out For Blood" which was followed by "Dancin" at the Edge. Ford did not achieve anything with either of them and was largely absent from the world of rock for around an entire decade. In 1988, she returned to the world of music with a smashing album called 'Lita. Kiss Me Deadly was a huge hit as was the ballads Close My Eyes Forever and Kiss Me Deadly. However, her fame was short-lived, and she disappeared for several years. Following the release of 'Black' in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland 15 years afterwards she reemerged. The year 2016 brought the release of her most recent studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend award.
