Lita Rossana Ford (or Lita Ford as she is more commonly known as was an American born British musician and vocalist who was the leader of the only female hard rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. The group did not have any fans in their home country of the United States. However, their fame grew internationally, particularly in Japan. Ford launched a solo heavy-metal career following the split from her band in 1979. Following vocal training, she launched her debut solo album, 'Out For Blood'. This was followed by the release of 'Dancin on the Edge'. Ford failed to make much with either album and was largely absent from the world of rock for about a decade. The smash hit album "Lita" was made available by Ford in 1988. Kiss Me Deadly (single) and Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were her most popular hits. However, her fame was temporary, and she was gone for a couple of years. Then she returned with the release of 'Black in 1995. Then she released 'Wicked wonderland' almost 15 years later. She released her latest album Time Capsule in 2016. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
