Lita Rossana Ford also known as Lita Ford as she is more commonly known, was an American-born British singer and guitarist who led the female-only hard-rock group The Runaways during the late 1970s. Though the group didn't achieve much success in America however they became extremely popular in other countries. That was the case especially in Japan. Ford began a solo heavy metal career after the breakup from her band in 1979. After taking vocal lessons she launched her debut solo album, 'Out for Blood'. This was followed by the release of her second album, 'Dancin' On The Edge'. The albums of Ford were not particularly popular and she went on hiatus for several years. Her biggest hit, 'Lita' came out in 1989. Both the song "Kiss Me Deadly" and ballad "Close My Eyes forever" became huge hit songs. However, her success was only short lived and for several additional years she was absent. Following the release of 'Black' in 1995, and 'Wicked Wonderland, 15 years later she returned. The album "Time Capsule" was released in the year 2016 by her. Guitar Player Magazine gave her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
