Lita Rossana Ford popularly known as Lita Ford is a British American singer-songwriter, guitarist and vocalist who played lead guitar of the all-girl hard rock group The Runaways in the late 1970s.Their rock-star sound and raucous lyrics helped them get noticed in the rock world. The band didn't have an enormous following within their home country of the United States. However, their popularity grew overseas, particularly in Japan. Following the split of the group in 1979, Ford started a lucrative solo career in heavy metal. She took voice lessons and released her first solo album , 'Out For Blood' followed by 'Dancin' on the Edge. Ford did not achieve anything with either of them and disappeared from the world of rock for 10 years. Her smashing hit, 'Lita was released in 1989. Kiss Me Deadly (single) as well as Close My Eyes Forever (ballad) were among her greatest hits. Unfortunately her popularity was only short-lived, and she disappeared for a few years.
