Lita Rossana Ford (also commonly referred to as Lita Ford) is a British born American singer on guitar who took as the lead vocalist for The Runaways a female hard rock group from the 1970s. They gained attention for their rebellious songs and punk-rock design. It wasn't possible for the group to be an instant hit in the United States, however, they enjoyed a great deal of attention in other countries, especially Japan. Ford started a metal solo career after the band broke up in 1979. Her debut album as a solo artist was called 'Dancin' on the Edge, followed by her Album Out for Blood. Ford did not achieve anything with either of them and remained out of the realm of rock for about a decade. Ford returned to the scene with her smashing hit album , 'Lita' which came out in 1988. Both the track "Kiss me Deadly" as well as the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were huge hits. However, her success was brief and she disappeared from the industry for many years. In 1995 she debuted "Black," and 15 years later 'Wicked Wonderland. in 2016, the most recent album, 'Time Capsule, was made available. Guitar Player Magazine presented her with the Certified Guitar Legend Award.
