Lita Rossana Ford is born in the United Kingdom and was an American guitarist, vocalist and songwriter. In the latter part of the 70s, she was the lead guitarist for the hard-rocking All-girl group The Runaways. It was not possible for the group to be an instant hit in the United States, but they gained a lot of popularity in other countries, especially Japan. Ford began a solo heavy metal career after the breakup of her group in 1979. Her debut album as a solo artist was 'Dancin' on the Edge and was followed by the Album Out for Blood. Ford disappeared for a few time from the scene following the albums' failure to draw any attention. The smash-hit album "Lita" was made available by Ford in the year 1988. Both the track "Kiss me Deadly" as well as the ballad "Close My Eyes forever" were big hits. However, her fame was short-lived, and she disappeared for several years. In 1995, she released "Black" and fifteen years later , 'Wicked Wonderland. 2016 saw the release of her latest studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine has awarded her The Certified Guitar Legend Award.
