Lita Rossana Ford (also known in the form of Lita Ford) is an British born American guitar vocalist who played the role of lead singer for The Runaways a female hard rock group in the 1970s. They gained attention for their rebellious lyrics and punkish style. While the group was not successful on the scene in The United States, it gained enormous popularity overseas. Ford's solo career in heavy metal was successful after the 1979 split of the band. After taking voice classes, Ford launched her first solo album "Out for Blood" which was followed by "Dancin in the Edge". Both the albums did not receive much success and Ford just vanished from the rock world for several years. Her biggest hit, 'Lita' was released in the year 1989. The single 'Kiss Me Deadly and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever' were both huge success. However, her fame was short-lived, and she disappeared for a couple of years. Then she returned after the release of 'Black in 1995, and then 'Wicked Wonderland' about 15 years later. 2016 saw the release of her latest studio album "Time Capsule". Guitar Player Magazine awarded her the prestigious Certified Guitar Legend Award.
