Lisa Olivia Munn was conceived in Oklahoma City. Kimberly Schmid is of Chinese descent and lived within Vietnam. She has a father named Winston Barrett Munn is from an American family that has deep roots in America's South. Olivia was two years old when her parents divorced. Her current family is run by her mother and stepfather. He is a United States Air Force soldier. Olivia was primarily raised at Tokyo in Japan. Although her family had moved from Oklahoma to various other locations, it was in Tokyo where she got most of her schooling. At the time, she appeared in several local theater productions. Later she became an Japanese model. Olivia, who had been living with her parents in Los Angeles in order to fulfill her desire to become an actor was determined to pursue her goal after the family moved back to the United States. Her acting journey began with a small character. It was then that her acting career began to take off after she was hired as Mily Acuna on the Hawaii-lensed television show Beyond the Break (2006). In 2007 she portrayed Rob Schneider's receptionist. She hosts G4's podcasts "The Daily Nut" along with "Formula D". Her passion for surfing has been a constant following the television program Beyond the Break. She also has black belts in Taekwondo. At the age of two, her mother married again however this time to an US Air Force member. Although the family moved numerous times, the vast majority of her existence was in Tokyo Japan in Japan, which is the area in which her father worked for the military. She was a journalist at the University of Oklahoma and also minored Japanese drama, dramatic arts, and acting.
